I have met countless white people who, after becoming somewhat informed, want to find a way to help dismantle racism. They feel the guilt of being connected to such a horrific past, and while that's a good starting place, that's not a place to stay. Often they immediately want to go out and "fix it," which implies that they really have no idea what "it" is or how deep "it" runs.
